What is a leader? What is a follower?

In any partner dance, as in life, there are those who lead and those who follow. The leader starts the conversation, the follower responds. Anyone can learn to lead and anyone can learn to follow. It’s fun to do both, eventually, we recommend starting with one role, learn that and when you feel like you’ve got a good solid command, then branch out. There are varying theories on learning, so feel free to pursue whatever your heart and passions desire.

What is BSC?

Boston Swing Central is a dancer-formed, non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting positive and fun swing dancing experiences in Boston.

We have two primary objectives. First, to provide a weekly Friday night dance that caters to the desires of dancers of all levels. This means a dance that is centrally located, on public transportation, and reasonably priced.

Second, to champion the diverse voices within our community by remaining open and neutral with regards to information and promotion of other swing dancing events in the greater Boston area and by striving to feature a wide variety of teachers, bands, and DJs.
