Have you ever wanted to learn to Lindy Hop but don’t have time to commit to a weekly class?  This is your chance! Our next weekend “crash course” workshop is 2.5 hours, Sundays, 11am-1:30pm. Come learn from experienced teachers who are also social dancers in the Lindy Hop scene.

We will cover six count basic (East Coast Swing), basic eight count (Lindy Hop – time permitting), and Charleston Basic. Moves typically include 6-count basic, Lindy circle, swing out and side by side Charleston. At the end of this class, you will be able to attend a social dance and dance to music.

Swingin’ at Piers Park. With one of the best views of downtown, this East Boston park is a hidden jewel. We’ve danced here before and it’s really awesome. Since we’re right on the water, and it is the ocean, it can be a little windy and get a little chilly, so bring a jacket, dress in layers…

What is the Any Swing Goes Competition? It’s sort of like Jeopardy for swing dancing. You pick the category, you’ll get a song to dance to…you dance. Other competitors will pick a category as well. The winner will have demonstrated that they can swing to just about anything…because Any Swing Goes! This contest is free to enter and has a really great prize, plus the ultimate bragging rights (we encourage you to be a gracious winner and share your joy with the world).

10:45am at Shelburne Farms (there is an admission cost of $32 for a bag that covers 3 people, who split up the apples). We’ll team up in groups of 3 in the parking lot at Shelburne Farms at around 10:45-11am.

Your car will get towed, or locked up (Danehy Park).

Join us in welcoming Parlour Noir to BCS!

Since 2017, Parlour Noir has been a well-spring of traditional jazz music from the historic Mt. Airy district of Philadelphia, PA. The eccentric six-piece ensemble brings joy and energy to the stage across a variety of venues, from bombastic swing dance weekends to intimate restaurant settings. Comprised of vocals, horns, piano, guitar, drums, and upright bass, the band swings hard through a repertoire that spans 1922-1945, including a handful of original tunes made specifically for the dance floor. They’ve now become one of Philadelphia’s premier Swing Bands.

🗓 EVENING SCHEDULE

8:00pm – 9:00pm: Beginner Swing Dance Lesson (included w/ price of admission)
9:00pm – 11:45pm: Swing Dancing

Advance Admission:
General: $20
Students and Seniors (with Valid ID): $13

ADVANCE TICKETS– must be purchased by 11pm on Thursday before the Friday dance
