Julie has been dancing most of her life (including many years of folk dancing), but started dancing Lindy Hop in 2008 as her New Year’s resolution. If only all of her resolutions were so successful! Once she got started, there was no turning back. She is an active member of the Boston Lindy Hop scene, loves to attend events around the US, and teaching and DJing locally. Her forte is managing projects day and night…for the BSC this focus has been getting our new venue, which is her baby…and she hopes you all love it! And now that that’s nearly over, it’s on to putting together our business plan and trying to get us through our non-profit status. She also loves to come up with fun theme ideas, like Paper Moon and our recent watermelon seed spitting contest (BSC female record holder…even if she did have an unfair southern advantage).

What is BSC?

Boston Swing Central is a dancer-formed, non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting positive and fun swing dancing experiences in Boston.

We have two primary objectives. First, to provide a weekly Friday night dance that caters to the desires of dancers of all levels. This means a dance that is centrally located, on public transportation, and reasonably priced.

Second, to champion the diverse voices within our community by remaining open and neutral with regards to information and promotion of other swing dance events in the greater Boston area and by striving to feature a wide variety of teachers, bands, and DJs.
